This page is solely devoted to my hand reared bunnies.
I have made this page to shown incredible success stories and to help other breeders who find themselves in a situation that they would not choose but to show that even though they are incredibly tiny it IS possible to do..
Esme and Buttons had two babies on 26th February 2019..
This is Esme's first litter and I think she decided that she wasn't up to motherhood this time around..
These two gorgeous babies are currently on a heat mat and appear to be very lively and warm however the most critical thing is the feeding and hope that they do feed well..
As these babies are Netherland Dwarf they are incredibly tiny!
I am keeping everything crossed and hope they survive..

UPDATE - 2ND MARCH 2019
DOUGLAS AND MATILDA AT 4 DAYS OLD..
Both babies are very lively and feeding very well.. They are still very fragile and something can still go wrong however I do feel reasonably confident as I have done this successfully numerous time in the past..
They are feeding twice a day and remain on a heat mat 24/7..
It looks like their colours will be BLACK OTTER and AGOUTI OTTER.
Genders are still unknown..

7/3/19 UPDATE - 9 days old
Matilda and Douglas seem to be doing amazingly well!
They are still both very tiny however they are definitely growing and changing into beautiful little bunnies..
When I speak to them they become so excited because they know food is on the way!
Their eyes will be opening in the next few days!
I have deliberately have decided not to weigh these babies this time as I am basing it on how they look and develop..

Douglas and Matilda are still doing incredibly well!
They are still fully dependant on me however I have noticed that they are attempting to eat the hay and a little bit of food..
They get so excited when I come home from work! They know its nearly feeding time!
It Looks like Douglas is actually a little boy! I am still not sure about Matilda!

Blossom and Frank had 1 baby on the 4th February 2018..
For some reason Blossom decided to leave this little one uncovered in his nest, and due to the weather being so cold I had to bring him/her in and put him/her on a heat mat indoors.. This isn't really an ideal situation however if he/she got too cold he/she would not of survived..
There is still a chance he/she may not survive but I feel I would of given him/her the best chance. For the first 5 days at least I will be encouraging Blossom to feed him so he/she gets the best bit of her milk for the first few days and then move him/her carefully over to goats milk..

We have nicknamed this little one 'SPENCER' but this may not mean he/she is a boy or girl..

Francesca and Buttons had 1 baby on the 7th February 2018..
For some reason Francesca like Blosson decided to leave this little one uncovered in his nest, and due to the weather being so cold I had to bring him/her in and put him/her on a heat mat indoors.. This isn't really an ideal situation however if he/she got too cold he/she would not of survived..

Both Spencer and Pippa appear to be doing very well still..
They are very active and are feeding well.. Their weight is gaining however only very small amounts. I am pleased with their progress at this very early stage..

** Bunny Update** 15th February 2018
Both Spencer and Pippa are doing incredibly well.. They are so active and feeding very well..
They are still on a heat mat and I still manage to get Francesca to feed both babies twice a day.. It was too traumatic for Blossom to feed Spencer so we abandoned that very quickly.. Francesca seems quite happy as she is very very spoilt whilst she is feeding them and before she realises what going on its done!
I imagine that Spencer's eyes will start to open within the next couple of days which is another milestone..
This is so rewarding to see and do but obviously not the normal way it should be done, but the point is that it can be done..
I have a 'where there's life, there is still hope' policy and I never give up..

Spencer's eyes have opened and Pippa's eyes are due to open anytime soon..
Spencer has a feed in the evening and then runs around the lounge! This is so cute but also really amusing! Pippa will be doing this soon too!
I hope to be able to check these babies sexes within the next week or so..
The size difference is quite big but both babies are increasing their weight daily..

Spencer 18 days old and weighs 154 grams (22nd Feb)
Pippa 15 days old and weighs 101 grams - eyes have now opened! (22nd Feb)
Both babies have started to eat hay and small amounts of the pellet food.. The next challenge is to encourage them to drink from the water bottle!!
** IT'S STILL VERY EARLY TO CONFIRM 100% HOWEVER IT DOES LOOK LIKE BOTH BABIES ARE BOYS**
Please start to express any interest in PIPPA..
SPENCER may already have a potential new home..

Clover and Marshall had 3 babies on 25th March 2015..
The babies were rejected from their mother (Clover) so will now have to be hand reared..
I will be writing a brief diary of these wonderful little babies..
It is very hard to hand rear baby rabbits however I have done it very successfully in the past!
Fingers crossed for these little treasures..
Looks like 2 dutch split and 1 blue eyed white..
26th April:These babies are now over 24 hours old and are feeding very well.. I have started to weigh them so we can see their progress..
28th April: All babies are doing really well and are feeding well too.. They have all put on weight (between 8grams- 10grams each)
These babies have been given the best possible start in life due to the fact their mother was still alive..
It is very important that they receive milk from their mother for at least the first 5 days..
Baby rabbits are only fed once a day by their mother naturally which does make things slightly easier when you don't have to feed them every few hours..
A mother rabbit will never sit on the nest to keep them warm and she would almost look like she was ignoring her babies which again meant that creating my own nest from hair collected from my other girls when they have had false pregnancies meant that they had something almost natural for them to sleep in for the first 2-3 weeks..
Having multiple babies means that they keep each other warm however I do have a heat mat on standby incase we only get one baby..
I held Clover like a baby on her back and literally rested her babies on her tummy and they fed from her like that..
It takes such a few minutes to do and when you see that the babies tummies are full then you know they have had a really good feed..
As soon as safely possible I transfer the babies onto goats milk with a 1ml syringe.. This has to be done extremely carefully because if any gets inhaled into their lungs they will develop pneumonia and almost certainly die..
19th May: These babies are now eating hay, pellets and I have seen them attempt the water bottle now so I am very positive that these babies have a normal, healthy and long life..
Please make enquires about these baby bunnies..
25th April: Picture of Clover and Marshalls babies at 2 hours old..
